VQR Wall hanging

Hello everyone!

Once again I dealing with birthday stress! My eldest has her 5th birthday party on Saturday. That's 2 party's in one month! Just one more in April and I will be finished for the year. Yippee!

I have managed to do some sewing this week. Of course it had to be a something new. I decided that I just had to make some blocks to hang in the living room.

Both designs are from the book, Vintage Quilt Revival. I'm sure most of you have heard of it. It's awesome!

This was my first time paper piecing, and I must say I am hooked! The May Flower block (two smaller blocks) is a perfect beginning to paper piecing. It was super easy and it looks great. I'm really happy how these have turned out so far. I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt them yet but I'm sure I'll think of something.

Thanks for stopping by!

A new quilt...

It seems like forever since the last time I blogged. I have been busy with the kids this week. My youngest daughter turned 1 on Feb. 13th! I just can't believe it! They grow so fast! We just had a small party to celebrate. Nothing fancy but now my other girls keep asking when their party is. I'm talking like everyday. They make me banana's but I sure do love them!

Anyway, Ive been wanting to make a quilt for my Dad for some time now. I new it had to be blue and manly looking. Picking the fabric was easy now what to do with that fabric that hasn't been so easy. I finally decided to go with stars. I made this big star block for the center. It's about 23 inches.

I've made a few 10 inch blocks but I'm not sure how I'm going to use them yet.

I have know idea how this is going to turn out. I'm starting to wish I had followed a pattern. I'm sure I'll think of something. I hope!

Here's a little pic of my baby girl!

Well that's all for now. Hope everyone has a great week!

Hello Betty, finally finished!

I have my first finish of 2014! And this is a very special finish. Something that I have learned about us quilter's is that we love to start projects and not always finish them. The blocks in this quilt was actually my very first blocks that I ever made with the very first fabric (Hello Betty by Moda) that I ever bought 3 maybe 4 years ago. I can't even remember. So when I found them I knew I just had to use them.

I added white to make the fabric pop. I had enough scraps to make a border for the top and bottom. It turned out to be 56 x 68 inches.

I'm not sure how my skills where at the time so I just stitched in the ditch to reinforce the seams. I did decide to add a zigzag pattern on the white borders so it wouldn't look to plain.

It's not perfect, but who cares! Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I just want to thank everyone for your comments and support.

Thank You!

A big Thank You!

I just wanted to say Thank you so much to all of you who have left such nice comments. My family supports me and raves about the things I create. But to have other people comment and say that they love something that I made well it's just a great feeling. Can't wait to share more with you all!
