Piccadily Dutch Pinwheel

Life has been super crazy for me lately. My baby started walking last week and all I have wanted to do is cry. I just can't believe how much she has grown. My five year old was super sweet and said, "Mommy I'll always be your baby".  I just melted. Then I realized it doesn't matter how old they get, they will always be my babies. Okay enough with the sappy mommy stuff. I bought some new fabric from Joann's, Piccadily by Denyse Schmidt.

I had seen this quilt, by Crazy Mom Quilts, and knew I had to take a trip to Joann's. To me it's sort of a odd combo of fabrics, and I love that. They are just so pretty! I couldn't wait to cut into them! It took me a couple of days, but I finally decided to make some Dutch Pinwheel blocks.  I really love this block! It's just simply beautiful.

I used Kona white and some grey crosshatch has background fabric. I wasn't sure how the grey would look, but I decided just to go for it. And I love it! Can't wait to start making some more!

  1. I have stayed out of Joanns for months, and that stack may push me back in! I love this block, it was one from my very first learn to quilt sampler class, so it has fond memories for me. Thanks for linking up while I hosted Anything Goes Mondays!
